Paid Time Off, Break Time
Policy StatementSpecific "break times" for non-exempt, non-union staff are not defined by the University, but reasonable paid time up to 15 minutes in each half of the workday should be allowed to attend to personal needs, washroom time, smoking breaks, etc. This time cannot be accumulated and added to lunch breaks or used for early dismissal.
Bargaining unit staff receive two (2) fifteen (15) minute rest periods, which are paid.
