Scheduling, Final Examinations and Reading Days
ScopeAll daytime classes
Policy StatementFinal examination times are assigned for courses numbered 599 and below. Space will be assigned by the Registrar's Office for multiple section examinations. Designated final examination dates and times are not subject to change, either by student or faculty request. Students are responsible for scheduling their classes, and thus their final examinations, so as not to create conflicts. The number of final examinations for which a student may be scheduled on any given day is not limited. Final examinations are not to be given during the last week of classes, to comply with New York State course contact hour requirements, or on any Reading Day.
Reading days are designed to allow students the maximum opportunity to prepare for final examinations. Requests for exceptions regarding Reading Days must be approved by the dean of the college and the office of the provost, and must be recorded in the Registrar's Office.
