Evacuation Policy
Scope
Faculty, staff, and students
Policy Statement
It is required of every student, faculty and staff to evacuate a building when a fire alarm is activated or directed to by emergency personnel. Occupants evacuating a building shall remain calm and proceed to the nearest stairwell or exit, not an elevator, in an orderly manner. Occupants shall notify emergency personnel of any disabled, trapped, or injured persons needing assistance. Failure to evacuate a building when required is punishable by law.
