Policy Statement
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) processes and secures all lost and found articles turned over to it. Officers attempt to locate and contact the rightful owners who can subsequently identify their property. DPS disposes of items held pursuant to the General Business Law of the State of New York through either the University surplus auction or donation to charity.
